STUD BULL
An Apocryphal
Story

A man took
his wife to see a cattle fair.
They reached
the enclosure where stud bulls were being auctioned.
A sign in
front of the first bull said: “This bull mated 50 times last year”.
The wife looked
at her husband and said: “See. He mated 50 times in one year. You could learn something
from him.”
They then proceeded
to the next bull and in front of that bull there was a sign: “This bull mated
65 times last year”.
The wife pointed
to the bull and taunted her husband: “This one mated 65 times last year. That works
out to be over 5 times a month. You should surely learn from this one.”
They proceeded
to the last bull, the prize bull of the fair, and the sign in front of this impressive
stud bull proclaimed: “This bull mated 365 times last year”
The wife looked
at the magnificent bull in awe and she exclaimed: “Wow! Just imagine. He mated
365 times last year. That is ONCE A DAY! You could really learn from this one!”
The man turned
to his wife and said: “Okay. But why don’t
you ask the owner and find out if it was 365 times with the same cow.”
